Communications Closet

Every residence with an office will have a communications closet. This will be essential for all things communications. This will support for internet, and television. POTS? telephone will not be supported since there will be no new POTS lines. The closest one will get is to link a telephone line to the router, but this will require RJ11 lines which will be a waste of resources.

The coaxial jacks will be located in various rooms of the unit. All coaxial jacks will align with an amplifier, and either attach to the OTA? antenna, or to a cable TV provider. Both cable TV providers (Verizon and Xfinity) will be supported in the communications closet even if one carrier is not supporting the address yet. One will just have to note which lines they will need to do. When installing cable TV services, the technician can make these changes in the communications closet.

The ethernet lines will run from the walls to the patch panel. This is done to reduce wear and tear on the ethernet lines. The reason for this is the internal lines will be encased in spray foam insulation, and therefore wear on these lines will not be a good idea. All ethernet will run to the patch panel, and the cables from the patch panel will go to the switch. The switch will be a 10GBPS switch which will give the maximum potential for either consumer grade, or commercial grade systems. All ethernet lines that are yellow will connect to POE? switches. A POE switch will need to plug into a POE switch to reap the benefits of that device. In example, the Wifi Access points will need POE to work properly.

Internet connections will require a network server, or router. Those that chooses Verizon will terminate as RJ45 which means no modem is required. Xfinity does not offer such an option, and will require a cable modem to connect to cable internet. Since the closet is not guaranteed to be in the center of the residence, there will be a ceiling mounted wifi access point on each floor in each residence to reduce the issues of slower bandwidth speeds. All network servers will have 2 WAN? ports in case you would want 2 internet services.

Stealing any of the property owned by FSP Realty will forfeit your security deposit, and criminal prosecution will be pursued. Switches, NAS? systems, and network servers are all expensive hardware, and requires hours of setting things up to work properly. Theft of these items will not only be theft, but will take precious time from me, or require that I hire a network technology engineer to reconfigure the network as it was before.
