The buildings will use a digital key system for the tenants and employees. Every member of the family will receive a key card that uses NFC to unlock doors. You can also use a smartphone, or an RFID tag if you don’t want to carry another card. The key card will have the same dimensions as a credit card. The administrator will set any additional key cards to the appropriate family member. Guests, and visitors will not get a key card. For them, they will need to use their smartphone or RFID tag to enter the building to get into your apartment. You are responsible for your guests/visitors behavior.
If you were to lose your digital key card, you would need a new key card. Your old card will be revoked, and a new card will be issued. This new card will cost $50. The key card will have your name on the front of the card, and the NFC symbol aside to the NFC chip to gain access. If you lose your key card, you must report it lost/stolen even if you assigned your smartphone as a digital key. The reason is for security.
There are no physical mechanical keys for the tenant. Even the mailboxes will use the digital key system. This is again for security. You wouldn’t want the previous tenant to be able to gain access to your mailbox, now would you? Even if the tenant just moved to another unit, their key card will only open their mailbox, and no others.
