From there, you would have a strong wifi connection throughout your entire residence. From there, you would have to realize that there are only ethernet and coaxial jacks in the residence, and there are no telephone jacks.
For those wishing to watch OTA? television will plug a Tablo or Silicon Dust Home Run adapter. The device will plug into an OTA antenna, and then plug into the ethernet on a jack close to the window. This will allow you to view and record regular television stations. You would need a smartTV or a smartTV adapter to plug into your TV. Assuming you have everything you need, you can watch OTA television whenever you want.
As for networking, you would have a wifi network with your apartment number as the SSID. You would also have a guest network which will be -g appended to the unit number. In example, if the apartment number is 3201, then the SSIDs will be 3201, and 3201-g. You can plug all of your items into ethernet jacks throughout the residence. If you have a need to have an item to be powered by POE, and you aren’t comfortable with setting everything up yourself, then you can make a house call.
For telephone, you would need to make a house call. The representative will come up to your unit, log into the WP810, and you would enter the credentials (UID, password, and server). It is recommended that you create a .txt file with the credential in that file. With a thumb drive, you would be able to copy your hopefully complex password and paste it into the appropriate field. Once done, you would be able to make and receive phone calls through your provider without the need to buy a new phone. You could of course buy a phone, but if you need help setting it up, it will still cost you a house call. The wifi network of the WP810 that is in your unit is tied to a different network than your home network. Therefore, you will not see the WP810 from your router, or network server. This is a security feature, and intended to make some assurance that your phone will work when nothing else will.
