Bamboo will be used for flooring for costs, and simplicity reasons. Bamboo flooring looks much like hardwood flooring which will give it a more luxurious feel to it. The bamboo flooring will be more environmentally sound. It could take a decade or longer for a tree to grow large enough to make it into plank boards. Bamboo is weeks. Why is this. Some people might see bamboo as fast growing trees. In reality, bamboo is actually a grass. And just like using a lawn mower to cut your grass, it will grow back as long as you don’t remove the roots. This means you can cut bamboo stalks close to the base of the bamboo roots, and it will grow back in weeks. As you can see, this is more environmentally sounds than hardwood.
And since the bamboo looks like hardwood flooring, there will be no need to run carpet on the floor. The idea will be to show off the bamboo flooring. Since there is no carpet, there will be less chance of pests, and less demand on cleaning. Bamboo is easier to clean than carpet. If you spill something on the carpet, you have to react with urgency to reduce the drink from getting into the fabric. With bamboo, while you should address immediately, you aren’t rushing to get to the spill as urgently as you would with carpet.
The only valid reason I could see for carpet is that it is a sound barrier. Each unit will have closed cell spray foam insulation which also functions as a sound barrier, and this will be more effective than using carpets. And to add to the benefits of bamboo flooring, each apartment will have underfloor radiant heating. This will allow the toes and feet to feel warm in the winter time, and this actually has people lowering their temperature because they are too warm. This saves FSP Realty money since electricity is included.
